Dinner and a play

Dinner was at Fix St James. The menu was interesting and the place was so loud we couldn’t hear across the table. For a while I couldn’t figure out what to order. (Bone marrow, anyone?) But I got an entree for my main, which is the Australian version of saying I got an appetizer for my entree, and it was an heirloom tomato with cucumber, avocado and goat cheese. That thing was amazing. I remembered to take a photo when it was about half eaten.

Our dinner companion was Vicki, a friend of Robert’s who travels with him sometimes.

The play was Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, at the Theater Royal.

The play took place on a giant turntable with minimal sets and Australian accents. Odd to hear characters talk about growing up in Mississippi and going to Ole Miss in an Australian accent.

  1. The entree looks great! Did you try the bone marrow? Scott loves bone marrow. I’m not so sure I would like it and am curious. I did try beef cheek at Iron Chef Simon’s restaurant a few years back. That was the last time I felt that I was being adventurous with my food….lol!
